Guacamole doesn’t have to be complicated. Just picking an avocado at the store is. But once those babies are ripe, mash them up into this great guacamole recipe. Resist double dipping if you can.

SKILL: EASY
TIME: 10MINS
SERVINGS: 3-5
TYPE: MEXICAN
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- Juice from ½ of a lime
- ¼ cup roma tomatoes
- ¼ cup red onion
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
Cut the vegetables
Start by chopping up ¼ cup each of red onion and roma tomatoes and finely dice 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro.
Make the guacamole
In a medium bowl, mash 2 avocados with a masher or large fork. Don’t over mash now, chunky guacamole is superior to smooth, IMO. Add in the red onion, tomatoes, and cilantro. Then add in juice from ½ of a lime, ½ teaspoon of cumin, ¼ teaspoon of black pepper and a pinch or two of salt. Lightly mix together. Serve with your finest tortilla chips. Double or triple this recipe if you’re throwing a rager or Cinco de Mayo party.
